The Face of Pride

The face of pride

Author Bianca Moeschinger - 22nd November 2023

Most of us journey through life with the encouragement to become someone. Someone possibly with an education, good values and morals, a healthy partner and relationship with themselves, and eventually a career or job that not only supports us financially but also satisfies us as a person.

Beyond these external influences on hopes and dreams, we have our own internal critic and guidance system that we have formed to hold us accountable for our existence. This guidance system is created through influence, comparison, expectation, and pressure.

In simple language, we are formed by the information we are capturing, from conception to now. Our faces show how we not only face our perception of the world but also how we respond, react, and take in our reality.

No matter our level of achievement in life, our faces will show the areas of ourselves that we are most proud of and the parts of ourselves that we are not. Basically, the frame of our face is the structure or base that backs up and supports our expression. The expression itself is the response or reaction to life in each moment.

Our strongest features are those we are most proud of. They back us up and are reliable; we energetically shine a light on them for others to see how great we are. Achievement, in a general sense, is each person's reward system that is unique to them.

We hold these features with pride; it doesn't mean that that is what others are seeing and feeling, as they can only receive us through their lens. So this experience of pride is our own.

When we have a sudden life change or challenge where we have a relationship breakup, a career change, money issues, a health challenge, or a realization about the past, that face will start to dissolve, and while it dissolves, emotions like guilt and shame will appear, especially if the face was created with air and will rather than foundational substance.

It can feel like your world is ending and that everyone can see exactly what you are feeling, almost like the truth or the cat is out of the bag and you can't catch it anymore.

The truth is that what you are releasing was never built on a true and solid foundation; it was simply created by you, as that is what and who you thought you were, when really it was merely a face you put on.

Once you ride the wave of the disolving face of pride, you will land. That landing place will be more solid and similar to the face you were familiar with without the extra air of pride.
